Defendant Hoyvald has moved to dismiss the indictment against him on the basis of alleged Speedy Trial Act violations.1

The Speedy Trial Act, 18 U.S.C. § 3161, et seq., is not, as some defense counsel seem to think, designed as a trap for unwary United States Attorneys or United States District Judges. Again, notwithstanding some defense counsels' apparent belief...
