Following their joint jury trial, appellants Marion Singley and Henry Kibler were each convicted of one count of distribution of a controlled substance (cocaine) in violation of D.C.Code § 33-541(a)(1) (1986 Supp.). Singley was also convicted of one count of possession of a controlled substance (heroin). Id. § 33-541(d).
