The defendant, Austin James Green, was convicted, after trial by jury, of second degree murder in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:30.1 and armed robbery in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:64. The defendant was sentenced to life imprisonment at hard labor, without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence for the murder conviction, and 40 years at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence for the armed robbery, the sentences...
