DOUCET, Judge.

Defendant, Allen Shrout, was charged by bill of information with distribution of marijuana, a violation of LSA-R.S. 40:966 A(1). In a trial by jury defendant was found guilty as charged. The trial judge sentenced defendant to ten years at hard labor, the maximum term of imprisonment provided by law. Defendant appeals, his only assignment of error being that the trial court erred in imposing upon defendant the maximum sentence provided by law.
