Appellant Thomas was convicted by a jury of felony murder, D.C.Code § 22-2401 (1981), armed robbery, id. §§ 22-2901, -3202, and carrying a pistol without a license, id. § 22-3204. He was sentenced to serve thirty years for the felony and misdemeanor offenses pursuant to the Federal Youth Corrections Act, 18 U.S.C. § 5010(c) (1982).
