Defendant, Willie Cheatham was charged with the second degree murder of his father, Oscar Cheatham. He was found mentally competent to stand trial in June, 1986, after having been formerly committed to the Feliciana Forensic Facility in October, 1985. The defendant waived his right to a jury trial.
