This is a suit for damages resulting from an overdose of a drug prescribed by Dr. Amaraneni, a physician on the staff of Charity Hospital, and filled by Leora Gonzales, a pharmacist at Sickles Pharmacy. Defendants are the State of Louisiana through its Department of Health and Human Resources, and the City of New Orleans, which operated the pharmacy.
