After a jury trial, defendant, Gregory Lowe, was convicted of murder (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, pars. 9-1(a)(1), 9-1(a)(2)), attempted murder (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 8-4), and aggravated battery (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 12-4(b)(1)).
