On February 9, 1981, plaintiff Loughman, a custodial worker at St. Gabriel's Church, fell from a ladder he had been climbing in order to change a light bulb. Loughman commenced an action against the manufacturer of that ladder, A. W. Flint Co., Inc. (Flint), for negligence, breach of warranty and strict products liability.
