NEUMAN, Justice.

In this original certiorari action brought in accordance with Iowa Rule of Civil Procedure 306, the plaintiffs attack the legality of an order nunc pro tune entered by the district court in a mortgage foreclosure action. The issue is whether the district court had jurisdiction to amend its final judgment after the time for posttrial motions and appeal had expired. We conclude that it did not and sustain the writ.
