On May 1, 1979, the marriage of Donald M. Halvorson, appellant, and Maura G. Halvorson, respondent, was dissolved. Respondent was awarded permanent maintenance of $500.00 per month. On July 28, 1986, appellant moved for an order amending the judgment and decree to terminate his maintenance obligation. The trial court denied the motion.
