Donald Ray Beauchamp was charged by bill of information with aggravated battery in violation of La.R.S. 14:34. He pled not guilty and waived his right to trial by jury. At the trial, the prosecution and the defense entered into a stipulation in which they agreed that the case would be submitted to the trial court solely on the evidence adduced at the preliminary examination. The trial court agreed to the stipulation and took the case under advisement...
