On May 23, 1984, a Suffolk County grand jury indicted Janice Robinson (hereinafter the defendant) for manslaughter in connection with the death of her eleven month old son. The defendant moved in May, 1985, to exclude the presentation of psychiatric evidence, specifically, "any evidence derived directly or indirectly from a psychiatric consultation between Children's Hospital staff, Dr. [Barbara] Burr and the defendant occurring on March 4, 1984."
