On June 12, 1984, Ralph Ruelas, a young high school student, was seriously injured when he came into contact with a 7,200-volt overhead power line while working as a helper on a hay delivery truck. The delivery truck was driven by Ignatio Ramos, an employee of John Trevizo, d/b/a Trevizo Hay Company. Ramos was delivering a load of hay to Shea Arabian Horse Ranch operated by Gordon Shea.
