Defendant, A.R. Rooseveltause, was convicted of rape (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1983, ch. 38, par. 11-1) following a jury trial in the circuit court of Cook County. The trial judge sentenced defendant to the penitentiary for a term of 30 years.
