The plaintiff, William Tyree, Jr., brought this action against the defendants, Patrick Keane and Roderick Hendrigan, in which he claimed that, following the murder of his wife, Elaine Tyree, the defendants violated his Federal and State civil rights by searching his apartment.2 42 U.S.C. § 1983 (1976 ed.).
