The first case is an appeal from a judgment of conviction on January 30, 1985, following a jury trial. The defendant was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor, in violation of General Statutes (Rev. to 1983) § 14-227a amended by Public Acts 1983, No. 83-534.
