Craig Kunkel was charged with the first-degree murder of his infant son. The case was never tried. He stipulated that his preliminary hearing and evidentiary hearings provided a sufficient factual basis for a finding that he committed the offense. He nevertheless pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect. After receiving medical testimony, the trial court found that Craig was not guilty by reason of mental disease.
