After a jury trial, defendant was convicted of murder, aggravated battery, armed violence, and unlawful use of a firearm by a felon. Defendant was sentenced to 40 years' imprisonment for the offense of murder, 30 years for the offense of armed violence, consecutive, and five years for the offense of unlawful use of a firearm by a felon, consecutive, for a total sentence...
