John Paul Jones was convicted in a jury trial of one count of conspiracy to distribute Schedule III and Schedule IV controlled substances in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 846 (1982), seven counts of distributing Schedule III and Schedule IV controlled substances in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 841(a)(1) (1982), and two counts of attempting to evade income taxes in violation of 26 U.S.C. § 7201 (1982).
