Southern Pacific (SP) appeals from denial of its motion for judgment notwithstanding the verdict in a suit brought under the Federal Employers' Liability Act (FELA), 45 U.S.C. §§ 51-60 (1982), by the widow and children of William Pierce, a deceased employee of the railroad.
