Appellants, Luis Ramirez, Leopoldo Alegria-Valencia, and Antonio G. Rodriguez were convicted following a jury trial for various violations of the Federal Controlled Substances Act. Alegria, and possibly Rodriguez, challenge the Drug Enforcement Agency's ("DEA") search of luggage and other items which were left in an abandoned hotel room.
