The plaintiff, while at her place of work at the Sickle Cell Center at Boston City Hospital (BCH), was injured by the collapse of a desk which was owned and had been maintained (if at all) by the city of Boston. She was paid workmen's compensation benefits, probably by the insurer of the city's Board of Health and Hospitals (board).
