Patrick Johnson, a parolee who resided with his mother in her apartment, was convicted of burglary and forgery. Johnson appeals both convictions on the ground that two checks admitted against him at trial were obtained from his mother's apartment in violation of the Fourth Amendment. He also argues that the trial court erred in admitting evidence of other crimes and in giving a jury instruction which he contends contained a mandatory...
