This suit arises from a dispute over the validity of two wills allegedly written by the decedent, Evard Merle Sturgis.

After the death by suicide of the decedent on March 4, 1986, an olographic will dated December 5, 1985, was discovered in his safety deposit box at the Oil City Branch of the First National Bank of Shreveport.
