JOHNSON, Circuit Judge:

This is an appeal from a district court order granting defendant-appellee E.F. Hutton's motion for a judgment notwithstanding the verdict. The order set aside a large part of the jury's award of both compensatory and punitive damages resulting from two unauthorized trades in plaintiff-appellant Floyd Messer's brokerage account. Messer contests the district court's determinations on both liability and damages and its denial of attorneys' fees...
