FAY, Chief Justice.

The defendant, John Vento, appeals from a judgment of conviction entered by the Superior Court after a jury found him guilty of first-degree-sexual assault in violation of G.L. 1956 (1981 Reenactment) § 11-37-2, as amended by P.L. 1981, ch. 119, § 1.1 We affirm the conviction.
