On February 17, 1987, the Court held an evidentiary hearing on defendant's motion to suppress. After hearing the testimony and the arguments of counsel, the Court denied defendant's motion. The Court sua sponte vacated its ruling in order to allow the parties to submit post-hearing memoranda discussing whether the evidence in question was seized during a lawful inventory search.
