The defendant, Barry S. Edge, was indicted and charged with second degree murder in violation of R.S. 14:30.1. After preliminary motions were conducted, the defendant was found guilty as charged by a Jefferson Parish jury. Motions for Post-Judgment Verdict of Acquittal or for Rendition of Guilty of a Lesser Included Offense were denied by the trial court. The defendant was sentenced to life imprisonment at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation...
