Defendant, Barry DeBlieux, was charged on April 2, 1986, with distribution of cocaine, a violation of LSA-R.S. 40:967 A(1) and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, a violation of LSA-R.S. 40:967 A(1). On August 8, 1986, after the trial court denied the defendant's motion to suppress his confession and evidence, defendant pleaded guilty to both counts, but reserved his right to appeal the ruling of the court on the motion to suppress.
