The defendant, Anthony Wayne Brown, was charged by bill of information with aggravated battery, in violation of La.R.S. 14:34. Brown pled not guilty and elected trial by jury. The jury convicted the defendant as charged. The State filed a motion to enhance the sentence pursuant to La.R.S. 14:95.2 and La. Code of Crim.P. art. 893.1.
