These consolidated appeals stem from appellant's conviction by a jury of a single count of assault with intent to kill while armed, D.C.Code §§ 22-501, -3202 (1981 & Supp.1986), and a denial of collateral relief under D.C.Code § 23-110 (1981). Reversal is sought primarily in the collateral attack proceeding on the ground of the trial judge's failure to disclose his then ongoing negotiations for an attorney position...
