The petitioner, Dante Nardini, seeks his release from imprisonment under sentences imposed after two criminal convictions, claiming that he had been denied both due process of law and the effective assistance of counsel by the use, at his jury trial and at his sentencing, of two prior felony convictions obtained when he was not represented by counsel.
