The sole issue presented by this appeal is whether or not the sentence imposed on the defendant for distribution of marijuana was excessive.

On January 15, 1987, Craig Simon (hereinafter defendant) was convicted of two counts of distribution of marijuana, a violation of LSA-R.S. 40:966(A)(1).
