This matter invokes the Supreme Judicial Court's original jurisdiction over judicial disciplinary matters. The Committee on Judicial Responsibility and Disability, by its report dated May 22, 1987, alleges that District Court Judge David M. Cox violated Canons 1, 2(A), 2(B) and 3(A)(3) of the Maine Code of Judicial Conduct and that those violations warrant formal disciplinary action.
