Jay M. Cole was injured when a fragment of steel from a screw extractor struck him in the eye. He brought suit against Belknap, Inc., the distributor of the extractor, Vermont American Corporation, the manufacturer of the extractor, The Home Insurance Company, the liability insurer of Belknap and Vermont, and the City of West Lake.
