The defendant, Grover Lewis Biddie, was convicted of murder and was sentenced as a habitual offender to life imprisonment without parole. On November 12, 1986, 516 So.2d 837, the Court of Criminal Appeals reversed Biddie's conviction on the basis of an erroneous oral charge.
