Kenneth A. Todden, an Iowa State Penitentiary inmate, appeals the District Court's1 denial of his petition for a writ of habeas corpus under 28 U.S.C. § 2254. Todden was convicted of first-degree murder on January 17, 1983 and sentenced to life imprisonment. Todden appealed his conviction, and, while this appeal was pending, brought an action for post-conviction relief in state district court under Iowa Code...
