Plaintiff, Dorothy Ritchie, brought this action against K-Mart as a result of injuries sustained in a slip and fall accident. A jury resolved the factual dispute in favor of the plaintiff and awarded her $12,400 including special damages, but found the plaintiff partially at fault and reduced that amount by fifty percent commensurate with its assessment of the plaintiff's comparative negligence.
