The Maryland General Assembly in 19701 enacted a comprehensive statute designed to control trafficking in controlled dangerous substances. As part of its "full court press" against the illicit drug traffic, it provided for the forfeiture to the State of all money or currency found to have been used or intended for use in connection with the drug traffic.
