Plaintiff Arline Soderbeck brought suit against Burnett County, Wisconsin under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 alleging that she was fired from her job in the Burnett County Sheriff's Office in violation of her rights under the First and Fourteenth Amendments. The initial trial resulted in a verdict in favor of Soderbeck against Burnett County. On appeal, this court reversed the judgment against Burnett County...
