Appellant, John L. Boyd, Sr., was charged by bill of information with attempted second degree murder, a violation of La.R.S. 14:27 and 14:30.1. The case was tried to a jury of twelve persons on September 18 and 19, 1984, with the defendant being found guilty of attempted manslaughter.
