KENNEDY, Justice.

The appellant, Loretta A. Ewing, and Bryant J. Ewing, Jr., appellee, were married in August, 1958 and divorced in California in October, 1970. Appellee served in the military from 1954 to 1974, during which time his right to certain retirement benefits matured.
