Defendant Monte L. Johnston appeals from his conviction, after a jury trial, of robbery in the first-degree in violation of Iowa Code §§ 711.1 and 711.2 (1985). Defendant contends the trial court erred in overruling his motion to suppress certain inculpatory statements he made while in police custody after his arrest.
