Defendant William Henry Vincik was arrested and charged by trial information with the first-degree murder of his wife, Inez Vincik. The jury found him guilty of murder in the second degree and he was sentenced to an indeterminate term of fifty years in prison. See Iowa Code §§ 707.1, 707.3, 902.9(1) (1983).
