The defendant, Rita G. Joyner, was charged in a one-count indictment with violation of the 1983 Computer Crimes Act, TCA §§ 39-3-1401 et seq. She was convicted by a jury and sentenced to serve one year in the local workhouse, to be followed by a probation period of five years.
