OPINION
RABINOWITZ, Chief Justice.
The Native Village of Northway ["Northway"] appeals an order of the superior court which extended state custody of A.S., a child previously adjudicated to be in need of aid, for a period not to exceed two years. Northway contends that the applicable statutory standard for such an extension was not met and that the order violates the Indian Child Welfare Act ["ICWA"], 25 U.S.C. §§ 1901-1963.
