This is a wrongful death case. The appellants, Dr. Manuel Kelley, Lee County Cooperative Clinic, and Lee Memorial Hospital were allegedly negligent in their treatment of Melinda Wiggins, causing her to die as the result of eclampsia, a condition involving hypertension, which occurs in pregnant women. The clinic and the hospital were immune from suit, so their insurers, appellant Ambassador Insurance Company...
