The defendant, Tony Ray Evans, was charged by amended indictment with second degree murder committed with a firearm, LSA-R.S. 14:30.1 and 14:95.2. After a jury trial, he was found guilty as charged and was sentenced to the mandatory life term at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.
