Defendant, William Sabillion, was charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a weapon, a violation of R.S. 14:95.1. He pled not guilty, and moved to suppress the evidence. When the trial court denied his motion to suppress, Sabillion pled guilty as charged, reserving his right to appeal the denial of his motion to suppress pursuant to State v.
